Born in the lands of Bozja a few years before the invasion of Garlemald, Eznix Mal’qir grew up as a proud and steadfast Hrothgar. He learned the ways of the Gunbreaker from his uncle in secret.

On his 15th summer, he and his friends got attacked by a group of Hyur bandits. Losing an eye in the process, Eznix fought off the bandits and helped his friends escape the attack.

Short afterwards he and his family decided to move to Eorzea to have a safer life not under the empires rule. This meant they would be targeted by the empire.
